If you missed out on ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, the opening film of the 21st Philadelphia Film Festival from director David O. Russell starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, or if you just want to see it again, you have another chance to see it before it hits theaters by becoming a member of the Philadelphia Film Society!
We’re having a members only screening of the film on November 1st, so if you want in on what many festival goers consider to be the best film of the festival thus far, and one of the best films of the year, be sure to look into getting a membership. If you’re attending the festival, visit one of our tables in the lobbies of the theaters around the city. Alternatively, you can get information about membership at this link.

And if you’re looking for my opinion on the film, and you very well could be since you’re visiting this blog, here it is:
“Just when I thought ‘The Words’ would be my favorite Bradley Cooper performance this year, I go and see this movie. The complex characters in this great story just made for quite the entertaining emotional rollercoaster. I can’t sing the praises of Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, and writer/director David O. Russell enough. On top of an overall amazing film, I don’t ever recall a film so great showcase Philadelphia the way that ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ did. Being a hometown boy like BCoop, I really appreciate the portrayal of my city. And it was an added bonus knowing that DeNiro is from New York and he’s playing an Eagles fan. 4.5 out of 5 stars”
