NEXTMOVE DANCE PRESENTS
ASPEN SANTA FE BALLET
“The crowd oohed and aahed, cheered mid-dance, gave standing ovations and generally seemed to adore every minute.” – Denver Rocky Mountain News
May 3-7, 2017
Prince Theater | Main Stage
Reserved Seating: $20 to $60
This gem of a contemporary ballet repertory company is known for commissioning top-notch choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Moses Pendleton, Jormo Elo, Nicole Fonte, Trey McIntyre, and Cayetano Soto to create accessible yet sophisticated work for its distinguished repertoire.
ASFB mixes American athleticism with European refinement in works impeccably performed by its virtuoso dancers. The program features the Philadelphia premiere of Silent Ghost by Spanish-born choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo. Culture Vulture notes, “The piece has a youthful, indie rock and ambient sound score, strong dancing, and emotional truth to it.”
The presentation of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Attend a Post-Performance Chat after every Thursday 7:30PM and Saturday 2PM show. Meet the company, ask questions, and get the scoop on the what’s and the why’s of the creative process.
