Bonaparte and Noble Candlelight

GUESTS OF A NATION

The story of unlikely friendship set during the Irish War of Independence, GUESTS OF A
NATION follows two IRA members who are ordered to assist in the execution of their British
captives. The men are forced to choose between loyalty to their country and loyalty to those they
no longer consider enemies.

This film was written as part of a screenwriting course at Temple University.  A majority of the
crew and cast are Philadelphia and Pennsylvania-based and the film was shot on location at a
national historic site in Elverson, PA.

THE PROPERTY
Directed by Scott Hudson / 2013 / 23 minutes

THE PROPERTY is an ensemble drama that reveals what money and idle time can do to people.
Five friends take a fantasy inheritance and move away from everything to start anew. Now, on
the last day to prepare for the arrival of their long-absent sixth, their illusions of happiness begin
to unwind.

This film was shot on location in Stockton, NJ and Doylestown, PA by Philadelphia-based
production company WHHW Films.  The entire cast and crew are residents of the greater
Philadelphia area.

SWEEPSTAKES
Directed by Mark Tumas / 2013 / 15 minutes

When her husband suffers a neurological complication, Lori must raise her newborn child and
care for them both. As she attempts to maintain normalcy within her environment, she is forced
to face the life she could have had.

The director and producer of this film are Philadelphia-based filmmakers and recent graduates
of Temple University.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Filmadelphia at the Roxy is a monthly film series at the PFS Theater at the Roxy that provides
avenue for local filmmakers of all ages, levels and backgrounds to showcase their work and elicit
audience feedback. The Series serves as a vehicle to encourage and identify new talented
filmmakers from throughout the region. Admission is free of charge in an effort to cultivate
accessibility and community involvement. Following each series, join us for a Q&A at the theater
and post-screening happy hour at Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse to continue the conversation and
celebrate the films.
