Steve R. McQueen is a distinguished artist whose early work involved gallery projections with simplistic, black and white motifs. Influences of minimalism in McQueen’s film Hunger, about the 1981 Irish hunger strike, are what contributed to its award-winning sucesses. Hunger was an Official Selection of the 2008 Philadelphia Film Festival.
