The Philadelphia Film Society is proud to announce the addition of a new blogger to the crew who goes by the name of Ben F. Silverio.
This Philadelphia native received a degree from Drexel University in Screenwriting and Playwriting with a minor in Television Production. While at Drexel, Ben co-founded and co-hosted a film review show with his friend Zachary Shevich called The Pretentious Film Majors, which has evolved into a multi-format form of entertainment and news including blogs on Cinedork.com, podcasts on iTunes, articles in the school paper and other publications, and a TV show on Drexel’s DUTV and YouTube at YouTube.com/pfmchannel.
Now armed with an extremely expensive piece of paper, Ben can begin climbing the treacherous ladder of the entertainment industry, which he hopes to do while streaming WWE wrestling matches, reading Marvel comics, and blogging about the excessive amount of movies and television shows that he watches, all on the iPhone that is permanently attached to his hand.
In addition to The Pretentious Film Majors, Ben’s work can be found occasionally at MovieSmackdown.com and almost daily at ScienceFiction.com, where he nerds out about superheroes, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Game of Thrones’, Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, and more.
With this new endeavor with the Philadelphia Film Society, he hopes to ignite some discussion amongst the members of the organization, keep everyone informed about the goings on around the city, and most of all, have a lot of fun while doing it. Since he’s always out and about at movie-related things around the city, be sure to say hi to him and welcome him to the PFS family.
Finally, he hopes that you don’t find him too pretentious for writing this whole thing in the third person. He… I mean, I look forward to meeting you all and bringing you some quality content for this blog.
