Philadelphia Film Society Announces PFF: Spring Showcase Line-up

 Held April 11 – 17, 2014, the Event will Feature Over 20 New and Retrospective Feature-Length Films

(Philadelphia, Pa – Thursday, March 20, 2014) – Philadelphia Film Society is announcing the full film slate for the upcoming PFF: Spring Showcase, which will be held Friday, April 11 to Thursday, April 17, 2014.

The PFF: Spring Showcase is a new spring extension of the Philadelphia Film Festival, allowing the Film Society to bring to Philadelphia more of the highly-anticipated diverse programming that audiences can expect from the annual Philadelphia Film Festival. A small collection of exciting new films including summer releases and other hits from the festival circuit, it is a great sampler of the kinds of films that will be presented in the line-up this fall.

In its opening weekend, the Showcase will feature 17 films currently screening through the international film festival circuit. The remainder of the event will feature evening screenings highlighting the creative and visually captivating films of 2014 Oscar Winner for Best Director, Alfonso Cuarón. The retrospective series will screen all of Cuarón’s features in chronological order beginning with his first, 1991’s Sólo Con Tu Pareja.

Tickets will go on sale to Philadelphia Film Society members during a special pre-sale window from Friday, March 21 until Sunday, March 23, 2014. Tickets will open up to the general public beginning Monday, March 24, 2014. All film screenings will be held exclusively at the PFS Theater at the Roxy, 2023 Sansom Street, Philadelphia Pa 19103.

Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory

Adopted into her father’s family, Belle goes on a tumultuous journey towards marriage and freedom.

The Double
