2012 SLATE KICKS OFF WITH SCREENINGS OF 50/50 & DRIVE, PRECEEDING THE DVD/BLU-RAY RELEASE OF BOTH FILMS

 WHAT:  Philadelphia Film Society begins the New Year by taking over film programming during the Trocadero Theater’s long-running “Movie Monday” screening series. The weekly series, a notable event amongst film lovers in the Philadelphia area, showcases a range of films from recent releases and cult classics to genre-based indie favorites.   The series will launch on Monday, January 23, 2012 with a screening of Jonathan Levine’s 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen.  The following week will include Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. Each film will screen one day prior to its release on DVD and Blu-Ray. Advance copy giveaways will take place a few minutes prior to show time.

Guests are encouraged to arrive before 7:00 p.m. to receive a free drink and bag of popcorn. Those arriving after 7:00 p.m. will be charged a $3 admission fee with a voucher towards a concession item. All films begin at 8:00pm, doors open at 6:30 pm.

Philadelphia Film Society members receive free admission with their membership card.

All ‘Movie Monday’ events are 21+ years of age, unless otherwise noted.
