In Relativity’s PG summer family adventure movie, Tuck, Munch and Alex are a trio of inseparable friends whose lives are about to change. Their neighborhood is being destroyed by a highway construction project that is forcing their families to move away. But just two days before they must part ways, the boys begin receiving a strange series of signals on their phones. Convinced something bigger is going on, they team up with another school friend, Emma, and set out to look for the source of their phone signals. What they discover is something beyond their wildest imaginations: a small alien who has become stranded on Earth. In need of their help, the four friends come together to protect the alien and help him find his way home. This journey, full of wonder and adventure, is their story, and their secret.

EARTH TO ECHO is a PG action adventure movie opening in theaters nationwide on July 2, 2014

ECHO

Brian “Astro” Bradley

Brooklyn born and raised, ASTRO (“Tuck”) became the first rapper to appear in the top 10 of a mainstream music competition, Simon Cowell’s U.S. version of “X Factor” in 2011. Powered by his enthusiastic followers, dubbed “The Astronauts,” Astro captivated viewers at home with his mix of bravado, charisma and skill. The then-15-year-old lyricist made his mark on the show when he unleashed his original breakout viral hit, “Stop Looking At My Mom,” which has received over 500,000 views on YouTube. Astro will soon wrap production on “Red Band Society,” a pilot from executive producer Steven Spielberg staring Octavia Spencer and directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. Rejon will also be directing Astro in his next feature film Me, Earl and The Dying Girl set to shoot in 2014. Astro will next be seen this fall with Liam Neeson in A Walk Among the Tombstones and will continue to work on his music.

SUN. JUNE 8, 7:30pm

During the 2013-14 school year, the 10 Day Film Challenge took place in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida. Participating students had 10 school days to create a 4-minute short film. Each challenge featured statewide screenings and award programs. In previous years, that’s where the 10 Day Film Challenge ended. Through a partnership with the Philadelphia Film Society, the 2014 10 Day Film Challenge CHAMPIONSHIPS program was created .

The CHAMPIONSHIPS is the new culmination of the 10 Day Film Challenge, featuring original short films created by high school student filmmakers from around the country. The top films from the statewide Challenges will now appear at the CHAMPIONSHIPS and vie for the coveted title of Overall Best 10 Day Film of 2014. With the help of the Film Society, in hopes to bring the 10 Day Film Challenge to all 50 states across the USA.

The 10 Day Film Challenge is funded by 10 Day, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of high school student film making through the use of digital media and technology.   The non-profit strives to create opportunities for all young people, whether in affluent or underprivileged areas, to become actively involved in the film making process. Exposing young people to this exciting and challenging field will foster creativity while igniting an interest in all areas of technology and digital film making.

Tickets are available on a reservation basis at the PFS Theater at the Roxy.
