PFF30 Guests Announced!
In conjunction with Festival screenings, Philadelphia Film Society will host top filmmakers and actors for red carpet interviews with photo opportunities and post-screening discussions throughout the 12-day event.
PFS is thrilled to welcome legendary writer/director, and Philadelphia Film Society board member, M. Night Shyamalan, to the Philadelphia Film Center on Tuesday, October 26 at 7 PM for a live conversation with renowned filmmaker Academy AwardⓇ winner Guillermo del Toro, who will be appearing virtually.
The two iconic artists will engage in an hour-long discussion that will provide a unique insight into filmmaking, both in terms of directing and producing new work, as well as the artistic process as a whole. Guests will receive insights into del Toro’s highly-anticipated upcoming noir thriller NIGHTMARE ALLEY, which opens in theaters on December 17, as well as the del Toro-produced ANTLERS, which is screening at the Festival on Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28 prior to opening in theaters on Friday, October 29.
Director Malcolm Ingram and Subject Kevin Smith are scheduled to attend two Special Event screenings of CLERK, Ingram’s documentary surrounding the eventful life and career of beloved filmmaker Smith.
Among others scheduled to appear are many guests with films in the Filmadelphia category or Filmadelphia Shorts Program, including the East Coast Premiere of KRIMES on Friday, October 22nd with Director Alysa Nahmias, Producer Ben Murray, Cinematographer Marie Hinson, and Subjects Jesse Krimes, Russell Craig, Jared Owens, and Gilberto Rivera. The stirring documentary follows local artist Jesse Krimes who created spectacular works while incarcerated and continues to use his work to inspire and challenge.
Guest schedules may change. Please see individual film listings for the most up-to-date screening schedule and guests anticipated to attend. The full Festival schedule and digital Festival Program Guide are available now on www.filmadelphia.org/festival.
