NEXTMOVE DANCE PRESENTS
COMPAGNIE HERVÉ KOUBI
“acrobatic and abstract, athletic and spiritual, the whirl of the body is both a b-boy headspin and a Sufi ritual trance, made to mesmerize and humble the mortal viewer.” – San Francisco Weekly
October 12-15, 2017
Prince Theater | Main Stage
Reserved Seating: $42 to $62
Student Section: $20
Under the artistic direction of Hervé Koubi (founder//choreographer), Compagnie Hervé Koubi performs the full-length Ce que le jour droit a la nuit (What the day owes to the night.) This troupe of 16 powerful male dancers defy gravity in a unique blend of contemporary, hip hop, acrobatics, b-boying, capoeira, and martial arts in choreography, inspired by the Orientalist painting and the stone filigree of Islamic architecture.
Attend a Post-Performance Chat after every Thursday 7:30PM and Saturday 2PM show. Meet the company, ask questions, and get the scoop on the what’s and the why’s of the creative process.
