Just as impactful today as it was decades ago, DO THE RIGHT THING weaves through one sweltering day in Bed-Stuy that ends in an explosive clash.

Spike Lee’s seminal DO THE RIGHT THING moves through Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn over the course of one summer day. The film follows residents — among them, self-appointed Da Mayor, boombox-toting Radio Raheem, and local institution Sal — as they make their ways through what begins as a normal day. As ne’er-do-well pizza delivery man Mookie (Lee himself) navigates the neighborhood, tensions rise between various groups. Over the sweltering hours, the boiling day erupts in a violent confrontation. Intimately directed, and featuring such icons as Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, DO THE RIGHT THING is as heartbreakingly reticent today as it was 30+ years ago.

An event designed to highlight culturally relevant cinematic films and create a safe space for the black community to gather. Our overall goal is to celebrate the experiences of the Black community through movies, music, and virtual conversations.

DO THE RIGHT THING is part of PFS’s Free Community Screenings, and presented in partnership with Kabila Events and the Coalition for Community Empowerment.

ONLINE SALES ONLY. Operations will be check-in only, no box office sales at all will be conducted on site.

Drive-In will open 1 hour before listed showtimes. Exact showtimes are approximate; films will begin at sundown.

Tickets can be purchase up to the published showtime online.

Please make sure to have a confirmation email and/or printed ticket with you for check in.

All screenings are rain or shine unless weather is determined to be too dangerous by management.
