Before she sought the coveted pelts of spotted canines and danced amongst a city of stars, Emma Stone charmed audiences with her breakthrough starring performance in Will Gluck’s EASY A. After a salacious rumor leaves Olive (Stone) persona non grata amongst her peers, the witty 17-year-old schemes with her bullied closeted friend Brandon (Dan Byrd) to hilariously pantomime a night of intense passion to keep all their haters at bay. Unlike Hester Prynne before her, Olive proudly indulges her notoriety much to the chagrin of resident Bible-lover Marianne (the legend Amanda Bynes). When her altruistic ego-boosting services are discovered, she finds more eager nerds lining up for a night of fake debauchery. EASY A’s eye-popping cast includes a rapping Thomas Hayden Church, everyone’s famous gourmand Stanley Tucci, a scandalous Lisa Kudrow, and more. So instead of spending the weekend listening to your grandma’s card playing “Pocketful of Sunshine” on repeat, kick back and enjoy some vintage Stone doing what she does best.
