Adapted from a short story by Raymond Carver, this insightful dramedy follows Arizona businessman and recovering alcoholic Nick Halsey (Will Ferrell), who relapses and loses seemingly everything when he’s abruptly fired from his job and tossed out of the house by his wife. With all of his possessions scattered on the lawn and nowhere else to go, Nick gets permission to remain on the lawn for three more days by staging a yard sale. Under the wary supervision of his AA sponsor (Michael Peña), Nick camps out on the lawn drinking PBR. Though mired in self-pity at first, the sad-sack starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel when he makes the acquaintance of a sympathetic new neighbor (Rebecca Hall) and enlists the help of a lonely neighborhood kid (Christopher Jordan Wallace). Featuring a nuanced, tragicomic turn by Ferrell, Everything Must Go is a powerful portrait of addiction, loss, and renewal.
