PEFF: FERNGULLY: THE LAST RAINFOREST

BILL KROYER | AUSTRALIA, USA | ENGLISH | 1992 | 76 MIN

Part of Green Screen: Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival

Tickets for this event are FREE, a reservation to the event is required.
Admission is on a first-come first-served basis.

Crysta (Samantha Mathis) and her fellow fairies live happily amid the flora and fauna of FernGully, a rainforest that’s been untouched by human beings since they were driven away years before. One day, Crysta is surprised to discover a human logger named Zak (Jonathan Ward), and she accidentally shrinks him down to her size. Eventually, Zak begins to see the importance of preserving this bucolic paradise and joins with Crysta and the other rainforest inhabitants to fight off the loggers and other nefarious forces threatening their home. Groundbreaking at the time of its release for tackling topics like deforestation and pollution in a family film, FernGully remains just as relevant and thrilling 30 years later.

Family-friendly seed planting activities to begin at 2:00 PM, one hour before the screening.

CAST: Samantha Mathis, Jonathan Ward, Robin Williams, Tim Curry

All sales are final. Admission is not guaranteed after scheduled start time.
