Part of Green Screen: Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival
Overshadowed by her hotshot soccer-playing brother and social media influencer best friend, 18-year-old Adja (Tracy Gotoas) is somewhat adrift in life. But when she develops a connection with classmate Arthur (Sylvain Le Gall)—an activist fighting against a proposed new construction in their community—Adja’s attitude begins to change. Though skeptical at first of Arthur and his circle of like-minded climate crusaders, Adja comes to understand first-hand the urgency of their work, and soon she’s fighting alongside them. With a memorably vibrant score and sterling performances from its young cast, The Horizon offers fresh insight on the concerns shaping a new generation of activists.
