ACTION U.S.A.

JOHN STEWART | USA | English | 1989 | 96 MIN

No CGI in sight in this unearthed high-octane 80s VHS-era relic about two FBI agents protecting a woman from nefarious gangsters with enough one liners and stunts to make Vin Diesel blush.

Revisit a time when shootouts and high speed helicopter chases were a regular occurrence on the action packed screens of American cinema. An era when feathered hair, overcompensating hot rods, and casual sexism were the norm. Hollywood stuntman John Stewart’s magnum opus ACTION U.S.A. defies gravity and logic as he composes an explosive symphony of car stunts and mayhem on the long highways and honky tonk bars of the lone star state. After witnessing the bloody murder of her boyfriend over missing diamonds, Carmen (Barri Murphy) is picked up by FBI agents (and buddy cop film dream team) Osborn (Gregory Scott Cummins) and Panama (William Hubbard Knight). In hot pursuit is legendary duster-donning hitman Drago (Ross Hagan) and his bumbling crew as they attempt to capture Carmen and recover their boss’s diamonds. Every chaotic moment is overflowing with action-packed glee and laughs as Stewart’s passion for mind-blowing practical stunts will surely fulfill any adrenaline junkie’s fix and then some.

CAST: Gregory Scott Cummins, William Hubbard Knight, William Smith, Barri Murphy
