CATCH THE FAIR ONE

Josef Kubota Wladyka | USA | English | 2021 | 85 MIN

A former boxer embarks on the fight of her life when she goes in search of her missing sister in this hard-hitting revenge thriller executive produced by Darren Aronofsky.

Winner of the Audience Award for Best US Narrative Feature at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, this drama features a breakout performance from real life US boxing champion Kali Reis in a role that she developed in collaboration with writer-director Joesf Kubota Wladyka. With its raw suspense, pulsating soundtrack, and brutal beauty, the film immerses the viewer in a ruthless world where human beings are currency. Kaylee (Reis) sets out to save her young sister, who was recently abducted by criminals preying on Native American girls. In an attempt to retrace her younger sister’s steps, Kaylee deliberately entangles herself in a sex trafficking operation. Sparing no one while sacrificing everything, she relentlessly plunges herself into the depths of the criminal syndicate to rescue the only person in the world she cares about and punish those responsible for tearing her family apart. A dark and dangerous journey into the brutal world of human trafficking, CATCH THE FAIR ONE culminates in an unexpected Shakespearian ending sure to linger with viewers long after the final credit has rolled.

CAST: Kali Reis, Daniel Henshall, Tiffany Chu, Michael Drayer
