Sophie Rois stars as Anna, a fiery 60-year-old actress whose career highs are well behind her. Anna’s world suddenly changes when she is asked to tutor 17-year-old troublemaker Adrian (Milan Herms). She recognizes him as the young man who recently tried to mug her on the street, but she still accepts the job to help Adrian with a speech impediment.After several lessons, Anna seems to inspire a radical change in Adrian. Much to the confusion and worry of her downstairs neighbor and confidant Michel (Udo Kier), Anna and Adrian begin to spend more time together, slowly blurring the line between student/teacher and lovers. As the pair’s forbidden affair becomes tangled up in criminal activity, Anna is forced to reflect on her questionable decisions. Told with grace and levity by writer and director Nicolette Krebitz, A E I O U – A QUICK ALPHABET OF LOVE is a thrilling and altogether unconventional love story.
