BLOOD RELATIVES
Noah Segan (PFF28’s KNIVES OUT) wrote, directed, and stars in this witty, bloody, and surprisingly sweet horror comedy about a solitary vampire struggling to adjust to single parenthood after meeting the teenage daughter he never knew he had. Segan is Francis, a vampire with a fondness for anachronistic 1950s stylings and Yiddish lingo. Traveling from fleabag motel to motel under cover of night, Francis seems content to live the life of an undead drifter. One night, 15-year-old Jane (Victoria Moroles) shows up at his door, claiming to be the product of a long-ago one-night stand. Skeptical at first, Francis is convinced of the resemblance once Julia shows off her fangs and superhuman strength. Reluctantly, these two oddballs hit the road and attempt to form a makeshift family unit, with hilariously chaotic results. With his directorial debut, Segan has created a delightfully offbeat road movie sure to warm the hearts of even the most ruthless bloodsuckers.
