HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE

Daniel Goldhaber | USA | English | 2022 | 100 MIN

Creatively adapted from Andreas Malm’s controversial manifesto of the same name, this pulse-pounding, provocative thriller follows a group of environmental activists as they attempt to execute a radical plan to sabotage a West Texas oil pipeline. For this diverse crew of eco-warriors, only acts of destructive violence can truly derail the corrupt corporate machine fueling climate change. Tracking them through every step of their dangerous mission, Daniel Goldhaber (CAM, PFF27) has concocted a dizzyingly effective new take on the heist film. From building and transporting the DIY bomb until the nerve-racking conclusion, the film expertly creates an atmosphere of white-knuckle tension that never lets up. In flashbacks, Goldhaber introduces us to crewmembers, who each come from vastly different backgrounds but have personal reasons for joining the fight. As timely and thought-provoking as it is relentlessly entertaining, HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE is an urgent call to action in the face of a worsening climate crisis.
