KIDS VS. ALIENS
Oblivious to the mysterious sightings and disappearances taking place in their small fishing town, Gary (Dominic Mariche) and his gang of friends entertain themselves by filming elaborate DIY action films. Gary’s teenage sister Samantha (Phoebe Rex) happily joins in on the fun until smarmy neighborhood bully Billy (Calem MacDonald) enters the picture and persuades her to give up her childish ways. During an epic Halloween rager at the siblings’ house, Gary enacts a plan to get back at his sister and reveal Billy for the slimeball he really is, but bigger problems emerge when a band of malevolent extraterrestrials attack. With slime spewing and the body count piling up, Gary and Samantha are forced to put their feud behind them if they want to make it out alive. The latest from Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener is a deliriously fun work of gonzo nostalgia, a foulmouthed take on the fantasy and horror classics of the 1980s and ’90s that’s as heartfelt as it is delightfully gory.
