LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG
Ukrainian twin brothers Kolya (Amil Nasirov) and Vasya (Ramil Nasirov), are constantly at odds. Kolya is a bus driver with a penchant for petty crime, and Vasya is a cop who has his own family. After learning that their estranged gangster father is on his deathbed in Luxembourg, the brothers must decide whether to visit him, ending their 20-year separation. While Kolya has invented an entirely mysterious and cool persona for his long-lost father, Vasya maintains that he’s merely a deadbeat who abandoned his family. The two eventually set out on their road trip, kickstarting a chain reaction of events that spirals into a hilarious and cathartic experience for the pair. From director Antonio Lukich, LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG seamlessly integrates family politics, class disparities, and comedy, resulting in an altogether gritty and entertaining film.
