TAURUS
Coming off a tour, rising rapper/rockstar Cole (Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly) needs to produce a new single. Struggling to find inspiration and inner clarity, Cole tries everything to escape his own mind and reality in increasingly dangerous ways. Collaborators come and go, his ex-wife (aptly played by Baker’s real life partner Megan Fox) wants nothing to do with him, and his young daughter only visits briefly with a handler in tow, leaving Cole to confront the life he so badly yearns for but cannot seem to obtain. Cole’s assistant Ilana (Maddie Hasson) attempts to help the rockstar maintain control over his spiraling life, as he drifts from the studio to his stark LA home to anxiety-fueled interviews (often covered in vomit stains from the night before), but her boss loses himself more and more. Tim Sutton (Donnybrook, PFF27) helms this unsettling and heartbreaking look into fame and addiction, based loosely on Baker’s real life and rockstar persona.
