CREATED BY: YONI BROOK, TED PASSON, NICOLE SALAZAR | USA | 2021 | 110 MIN | TV-PG | ENGLISH
PHILLY D.A. is an eight part docuseries inside the tumultuous first term of Philadelphia’s unapologetic D.A. and his team of outsiders as they attempt to change the criminal justice system from the inside.
On the one year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis, join us for a special in-person screening of PHILLY D.A.’s Episode 7, which tells the story of David Jones, a local Philadelphian killed by an on-duty police officer and the real-time efforts at prosecution by the Philly D.A.’s office. The 52 min episode will be followed by a live panel discussing the state of police reforms and state legislation, moderated by Chris “Flood the Drummer” Norris, of WHYY, and including Michael Coard, defense attorney and host of Radio Courtroom on WURD, civil rights attorney David Rudovsky, Elizabeth Randol, Legislative Director of ACLU of Pennsylvania, and the filmmaking team behind the series.
Presented by Philadelphia Film Society and the Scribe Video Center.
