THE GOONIES

RICHARD DONNER | USA | 1985 | 114 MIN | PG | ENGLISH

Free Community Screening, presented by PFS and Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.
Attendees Must Reserve a Free Ticket.

Facing escaped criminals, booby traps, and more, a group of misfits sets off to find legendary pirate One-Eyed Willy’s lost treasure and save their homes.

Underneath the streets of Astoria, it’s the Goonies’ time — it’s their time, down there — to save the day.   While their parents try to rescue their community, a ragtag group of pre-teens goes in search of ruthless pirate One-Eyed Willy and his famed lost treasure. The Goonies follow an ancient treasure map deep into the caverns of Astoria, evading escaped convicts and outwitting booby traps along the way.  Perfectly combining the vibes of Indiana Jones and Cyndi Lauper, this 1985 classic became the archetypal adolescent adventure film, and taught generations the meaning of friendship and that true Goonies “never say die.”

Cast: Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman

“A rolicking good time is had by all in this adventure…” –Empire
