With this escapist holiday confection, romcom maven Nancy Meyers turbocharges the formula that makes her films so deliriously enjoyable (gorgeous people + even more gorgeous interior design = cinematic bliss), offering two giddy love stories stories for the price of one. Though thousands of miles and an ocean separate them, lovesick British wedding columnist Iris (Kate Winslet) and jilted LA executive Amanda (Cameron Diaz) feel similarly fed up with the men in their lives. After meeting online, the two decide to swap houses over the Christmas holidays, each hoping for a fresh start in unfamiliar environs. Though bored at first in her host’s sleepy English hamlet, Amanda has a change of heart when she meets Iris’s hunky brother Graham (Jude Law), while Iris stumbles into her own unexpected romance with goofy but charming Miles (Jack Black). But with the ends of their vacations looming, will Iris and Amanda choose to return to their former lives or take a chance on love?

Every First Thursday of the month, come out to the Prince Theater for a screening of a crowd-pleasing modern classic preceded by a few rounds Quizzo where all questions are about or inspired by that night’s movie. During the film, we will tally up the scores and reveal the winning team as the credits roll. The first-place team and runners-up will win prizes and bragging rights!
