MOVIES ON THE BLOCK

Movies on the Block is a free, summer screening program designed to bring groundbreaking films to neighborhoods across Philadelphia.

Planned in partnership with local community groups and organizations, each event invigorates established community gathering spaces and creates space for meaningful conversation and engagement through carefully curated films and accessible community activities.

Each Movies on the Block event features a screening of an outstanding film paired with interactive activities, performances, educational demonstrations, and more.

All Movies on the Block events are free and open to the public.

Come join us for a ceasefire night out for Philadelphia youth! Created through a partnership with 10 nonprofits from across the city, this Movies on the Block event is a space for youth to come together to get to know their community and have safe summer fun. Games, free water ice, free beverages, free concession stand items, free raffles, and an inspiring film will make it a night out to remember!

A celebration of Chester’s arts, culture, and food scene, this is more than a Black Panther screening! Hosted by two of Chester’s most exciting restaurants, this event will feature local musicians and local filmmakers sharing their art and nonprofits from across the city sharing resources for local families.

Food, fun, resources, and entertainment! Join us at the historic Lighthouse for a screening of your favorite animated film, Luca, and an evening of summer fun. Rock out with the DJ, burn off energy in our bounce houses, connect with local organizations, try your hand at a field activity, or grab a snack from the shed! Don’t miss this free family-fun evening.
