Accessibility at the Philadelphia Film Center

The Philadelphia Film Society is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all patrons.


Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair Access

The Philadelphia Film Center is designed for wheelchair access. The main lobby entrance is ramped, and restrooms are accessible in the lower lobby via elevator. For patrons attending an event in the Black Box Theater there is also an accessible restroom on the second floor. Performances in the Mainstage are accessible from the main lobby, and performances in the second-floor Black Box Theater are accessible via elevator. Wheelchair accessible locations, designated aisle transfer seats (Mainstage only), and companion seating are available for all performances, and may be purchased online or by calling our box office at 215-422-4580. For general admission events wheelchair accessible, designated aisle transfer seats (Mainstage only), and companion seating are available on a first come, first served basis.

To ensure comfort and emergency evacuation safety, Philadelphia Film Center ushers will store mobility assistive devices once patrons have reached their seats, and will ensure that patrons shall have access to their devices upon request, or during breaks in the performance, and at the performance end.


Assistive listening available in the Main Stage

Assistive Listening

Assistive Listening Devices for patrons who need additional amplification are available for live events (Mainstage only). Please inquire with House Management upon arrival to obtain a device.


Trained Service Animals are Welcome

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome at the Philadelphia Film Center.


American Sign Language

ASL

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be available for select events. To request accommodations, send requests at least three weeks prior to the event date to info@philafilmcenter.org or call 267-239-2941.
