Community Screenings

Community Screenings are free events curated in partnership with Philadelphia arts and advocacy organizations.

The Philadelphia Film Society is proud to host monthly community screenings of curated films at the Philadelphia Film Center. With community screenings, PFS partners with local arts and advocacy organizations in an effort to use our screens to amplify underheard voices, bring new communities to the movies, and make movies accessible to new audiences.

Screenings are open to the public and include post-film engagement activities, like quizzo, art projects, and talk backs.

All community screenings are free to attend.

MY NAME IS EFTIHIA

Mingle with the Hellenic University Club and World Affairs Council over light bites before a screening and discussion of MY NAME IS EFTIHIA. A biopic of songwriter Eftyhia Papagiannopoulou (1893-1972), who escaped the burning of Smyrna and journeyed to Athens, where she became a major figure in Greek popular music and one of the country’s most beloved lyricists.
