Get The College Experience at Philadelphia Film Festival!

Get The College Experience at Philadelphia Film Festival!
By Sophia Galvan, Marketing Intern

The 25th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival is just days away! Running October 20-30, this local tradition brings the best independent and international films of this year to Philly before they hit screens worldwide. #PFF25 welcomes filmmakers, industry professionals, and special guests to the City of Brotherly Love for the best 10 days of the year. Whether you are an aspiring filmmaker, a full-time film buff, or just a typical movie fan, you will find something to fall in love with the 120+ films we will be screening.

The financial struggle of being in college is no stranger to us, so we offer specially priced festival badges for students. This student badge costs $75 and comes with perks like priority admission to screenings and access to the festival lounge for students who are 21+. If you’re not up for the $75 plunge, we also have regular tickets available for each screening.

Looking for free screenings? Look no further. PFS On Us is a free ticketing program presented by PNC Arts Live that provides access to films in these select categories: American Independents, Documentary Showcase, and State of the Union. These films are fresh, unflinching, and honest. They explore a wide range of topics from falling in love to criminal justice reform. These films are meant to start a conversation, and what better audience to do this with than college students? In fact, the State of the Union films – supported by the Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation – will be hosted in University City at Drexel University’s URBN Annex, and will be a space for not only movie-watching, but also discussion on the issues presented in each film.

All 21+ festival ticket and badge holders have access to the festival lounge located at 126 Chestnut St, which is stocked with snacks and drinks included with your ticket/badge. One more time for the people in the back? FREE FOOD AND BOOZE. I know what you’re thinking, “So you’re saying I get to see cool movies and eat and drink as much as I want for that price?” Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying.
