PFF SpringFest – BLINDSPOTTING

OPENING NIGHT: BLINDSPOTTING

CARLOS LÓPEZ ESTRADA | 2018 | USA | English | 95 MIN

Cast: Daveed Diggs, Rafael Casal, Janina Gavankar, Jasmine Cephas Jones

One of the breakout hits of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Blindspotting is the brainchild of real-life friends Rafael Casal and Tony-winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), who drew upon their own experiences coming of age in the Bay Area to write this intense, hip-hop influenced drama. The film follows two longtime pals — black ex-con Collin (Diggs) and white, fast-talking Miles (Casal) — as they navigate life in Oakland, a city grappling with rapid gentrification and simmering racial tension. Collin is trying to get through the last few days of his probation sentence without incident, but a dramatic turn of events threatens to ruin Collin’s hopes of a fresh start and drive a wedge between the two friends. Gritty, haunting, and poetic, Blindspotting brings a unique and urgent take on issues of class and race in contemporary America.

Writers and Stars Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casel are scheduled to attend and participate in a Q&A following the screening.

Following the Opening Night screening of Blindspotting, Film & Party ticket holders and badge holders are invited to join PFS to celebrate the first-ever PFF SpringFest. Toast to a weekend of new and acclaimed indies fresh off the festival circuit. The Opening Night Party will feature music, light bites, and complimentary drinks.

Opening Night Party is open to all SpringFest All Access Badge Holders. Film & Party tickets also available!
