CARRIE at BOK

CARRIE

BRIAN DE PALMA | USA | 1976 | 98 MIN | R

In this terrifying adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel, sensitive teen Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) beings to suspect that she has telekinetic powers. After coping with vicious bullying at school and the abuse of her fanatically religious mother, things finally begin to look up for Carrie when she’s invited to the prom. But when a cruel incident occurs, Carrie’s violent rage is unleashed in its full force.

Cast: Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving

This event will take place at the BOK, located at 1901 S 9th St. Philadelphia, PA 19148. People should enter using the Bok Bar entrance (off of Mifflin Street, nearest to 8th Street).

Located in South Philadelphia, BOK offers affordable creative office and studio space to small businesses, artists, nonprofits, small-batch manufacturers and beyond. The scale of the building — 340,000 square feet and an entire city block — means there is the ability to accommodate a wide diversity of users in spaces ranging from 200 to 25,000 square feet.
