SICK
Parker and Miri just wanted to get away. Desperate not to spend the 2020 lockdown alone, they pack up a car and head to a fancy estate in the middle of nowhere. But when their duo quarantine party plans are interrupted by mysterious text messages and noises coming from outside the house, they realize they might have fallen victim to a deadly cat-and-mouse game with a masked killer. Audiences yearning for the days when multiplexes were full of slasher flicks populated by attractive teens and college kids need look no further. Screenwriter Kevin Williamson (Scream) has come home to the genre he helped popularize in the 1990s and treats us to a contemporary take on his killer-in-a-mask creepers for the covid age. Paired with director John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, PFF21), Sick is the tight, nasty little piece of horror business we’ve been missing.
CAST: Gideon Adlon, Dylan Sprayberry, Beth Million, Jane Adams
