Developers set their sights on Liberty City, a historically Black enclave outside the floodplains. They promise economic revival for this long-neglected neighborhood, but residents quickly learn that the plans to transform Liberty City threaten to erase not only homes, but a cherished community and culture. While officials herald progress, residents suspect a plot to displace them in favor of climate-change-fleeing elites from Miami Beach. RAZING LIBERTY SQUARE delves into the heart of climate gentrification, where hopes for a better future collide with fears of erasure.
