ROBOT DREAMS
Dog lives a life of simplicity, sticking to a mundane daily routine and ending his nights with microwavable dinners. On one of those evenings, the universe gifts Dog with a solution for his loneliness when a life-changing advertisement for a robot friend appears on his television. Refusing to let this opportunity fly by, he places an order and soon has a mechanical companion at his side. The unlikely duo swiftly become inseparable, spending every second together and bonding over Earth, Wind & Fire’s smash hit “September.” However, a trip to the beach throws a wrench into their relationship as a mechanical malfunction renders Robot immobile and stuck in the sand. After several heartbreaking attempts to save Robot, Dog is forced to wait until the next summer to retrieve him. As the seasons go by, their lives change in ways that further cement their distance from each other. With delightful musical numbers throughout, Pablo Berger’s ROBOT DREAMS is an affecting animated tale for all ages about love and its ability to withstand the test of time.
