PFF SpringFest: 2nd Chance
RAMIN BAHRANI | USA | 2022 | 89 MIN | ENGLISH
Acclaimed for films including MAN PUSH CART, CHOP SHOP (PFF17), and GOODBYE SOLO (PFF18), director Ramin Bahrani returns with his first feature documentary, a stranger-than-fiction look at the rise and fall of bulletproof vest entrepreneur Richard Davis. Bahrani tracks Davis’s unlikely ascent as he went from failed restaurant owner to founder of one of the world’s most successful body armor companies, getting voluntarily shot 192 times along the way in order to prove his product’s effectiveness. Reminiscent of the work of director Errol Morris with a dash of THE TIGER KING, 2ND CHANCEe is a thoughtful, fun romp full of contradictions and deceptions that weave a riveting tapestry of the possibilities and pitfalls of American ambition.
Ticket does not guarantee admission after scheduled start time. Tickets for Festival screenings can be exchanged in person at the box office or via email at least two hours prior to the screening start time. Festival tickets are not eligible for refunds.
