PHILADELPHIA FILM FESTIVAL FIELD TRIPS
Every year we offer five free screenings of our groundbreaking festival films for students across Philadelphia.
PFF30 Festival Field Trips take place on weekday mornings from Monday, Oct. 25, through Friday, Oct. 29. For 2021, screenings are being offered on our virtual platform AND at our Center City Philadelphia Film Center–the largest movie screen in Philadelphia! Films will begin at 10 AM.
All field trips include a structured post-viewing discussion immediately following the screening and optional lesson plans that tie the films into a variety of academic subjects. Whenever possible, the discussions will be accompanied by interactive Q&As with visiting filmmakers, documentary subjects and industry professionals.
This opportunity is made possible through continued support from PECO.
Classes in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate. For program details, including film schedule, age recommendations, and reservation information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Apply early! Space is limited and seats are filled on a first come, first served basis.
ALBERT M. GREENFIELD STUDENT SCREENING PROGRAM
Applications for the Albert M. Greenfield Student Screening Program will open in November 2021. If you would like to be notified when the field trip applications open, please email email@example.com.
Field trips to see critically acclaimed films, paired with innovate lessons taught in your classroom.
FREE field trips are offered year round to schools across across the City of Philadelphia and surrounding counties.
Our trips include a film screening at our Philadelphia Film Center, and a detailed curriculum packet for each film, complete with discussion prompts, pre- and post-viewing activities, and connections with ELA and social science learning standards.
NEW for 2021-2022: engage further with PFS through an optional in-school post-screening lesson led by PFS staff that help your students connect the films to their own lives and to your curriculum.
Field trips can be booked Mondays – Thursdays with a 10:00 AM film start time. This year for Covid safety reasons, field trips will only be available from January through June 2022.
There is no admission fee to attend a film. Transportation and any costs associated are up to each school to cover. Through generous support from the Albert M. Greenfield Foundation, we are able to offer bus reimbursements of up to $100.00 for qualifying schools. Please indicate if you would like to be considered for this transportation grant in the application form.
