PFS Announces Curated Programming Lineup for October – December
The lineup includes the limited series Love Park and Hogwarts Express. As well as screenings of PURPLE RAIN, THE SHINING in 4K, ROSEMARY’S BABY on 35MM, and ALMA’S RAINBOW in 4K!
We are excited to announce the full lineup of curated programming for October through December taking place at the Philadelphia Film Center (1412 Chestnut Street). The lineup includes the limited series Love Park, to celebrate the release of Park Chan-wook’s newest film, the 2022 Cannes Best Director winning DECISION TO LEAVE, we revisit his unforgettable, game changing films, a Throwback Quizzo & Movie screening of PURPLE RAIN, family-friendly screening of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS with pre-screening activities, and cult classic THE SHINING in 4K.
Tickets to individual screenings are currently available to purchase on Filmadelphia.org, prices range from $14 to as low as $5. Individual tickets can be purchased for all films in limited series at the price point of $14 ($9 for PFS Members) or there is a bundle ticketing option available for those interested in attending all films in the series. The Love Park bundle is $38 ($33 for PFS Members). There is a bundle ticketing option available for those interested in attending DRACULA & FRANKENSTEIN, Monster Mash Double Feature is $21 ($16 for PFS Members). The Cosmic Music bundle is $45 ($40 for PFS Members).

Curated Programming for October – December Lineup
Limited Series: Love Park – To celebrate the release of Park Chan-wook’s newest film, the 2022 Cannes Best Director winning DECISION TO LEAVE, we revisit his unforgettable, game changing films. 2000’s JSA: JOINT SECURITY AREA and his VENGEANCE TRILOGY (presented on 35MM) showcase the master of cinema already in control of his craft; blending beauty, brutality, and black humor in ways never before seen in film.

Limited Series: Cosmic Music – After William Friedkin’s 1977 white-knuckle SORCERER introduced the world to the sensually alluring, yet alien electronic soundscapes of Germany’s Tangerine Dream, the band went on to define a wide breadth of cinematic scores throughout the 80s and inspire countless acts to continue the celestial voyage they began. These are those films.

Movie Club: Movie Club is a new monthly film series designed around the needs of film enthusiasts and students of cinema to be a forum for discussions of film analysis, aesthetics, history, and production. We kick off Movie Club with an ongoing showcase of first films by groundbreaking filmmakers from around the world and across film history. Each film will feature an introduction, robust post-viewing discussion, and a packet of suggested additional viewing, listening, and reading.
